With a
total of seven actives brothers and one alumni living in the
house over the summer, the mentality for recruitment going into the
fall semester was alive and well.
Starting
with IFC's newly improved Meet the Greeks, Xi Delta jump
started in this year‟s recruitment with a plentiful name's list.
After a week of heavy recruiting, the chapter came out with eleven new
members, plus one more picked up in the next week. With these twelve
plus the eighteen actives, the chapter is reaching numbers as it did in
the past.
With the
new accreditation program set forth by the national office, a
good portion deals with our new member education program. With that in
mind, our Pledge Master, Brother Chris Scott, is prepared to take on
the challenge and fine tune the process to churn out brothers who will
maintain the chapter for the better.
On
Saturday, September 3rd, Brother Chris Scott and Brother Mario L.
Lento held a new member retreat for the twelve. The curriculum
consisted of not only an overview of the national and local history,
but an in-depth look on the new member process and the chapter
operations, including a description of each elected position and
relevant bylaw education.
Finally,
in the picture above of the group, the new members went to a
chapter meeting of the Gamma Phi Beta sorority and formally introduced
themselves to both the active sisters and new members of the chapter.
With this successful act, the group will slowly move through with
introductions to the other two campus sororities, Alpha Phi and Phi
Sigma Sigma. This is a strong start for a strong program to build
strong members.
